I am a student at Franklin Pierce University. I am majoring in American history, and Education, to receive a BA in May 2018. I have taken numerous history courses that covered immigration of the Irish to America and labor history, including an Irish identity course, U.S. history 1877-1945, and a U.S. labor and social history class. As well I have taken a history course of the world wide web relating to digitizing historical projects.
The aim of the project is to show how my Irish family lineage co-insides with the experiences of the Irish immigrants of the mid 19th-early 20th centuries, through gender and social roles of labor, assimilation, and overall identity.
